Viktoria Chikalo (b. 1988, Lviv, Ukraine) London-based visual artist and photographer. Having relocated to the UK following the war in her home country, her practice explores human connection. In her photographs, she looks for beauty in fleeting moments that evoke a sense of intimacy, authenticity of spirit, and joy of movement. Her approach to image-making is experimental, timeless and intuitive.
Alongside her independent artistic practice, Viktoria works with artists, performers, musicians, playwrights, and cultural institutions, developing visual concepts and translating ideas into thoughtful imagery. She contributes to publications such as the British Journal of Photography, The Times, The Guardian, and ELLE.
Selected clients include Sadler's Wells, Snapchat, and the Lviv National Opera and Ballet Theatre. She has worked with Jo Brand, Kevin McNally, Phyllis Logan, and Susannah Harker, among others.
She was selected as a winner of the British Journal of Photography Portrait of Britain Award (2024).
